My Memory

Just a thought or two about the ways I’m observing my memory changing as I get older. Some of it encouraging, some ot if not.

I’ve given it some thought, although I’ve not really seen anything written about it, so I don’t know if I’m scientifically on target with this. What I’ve observed about my own memory recall is that it falls into one of two categories: retrieval or recognition.

I’d Better Be Scoring Some Points!

Sherrie won two tickets to the Braves game last night…box seats in the Lexus Pavilion, no less. The game started at 7:35, and it would have taken us about 30-40 minutes to get there, parked, and into the stadium. I was really looking forward to it, because I’ve never been to a professional baseball game…well, not 1-A anyway.

At about 3:30, a co-worker in Pasadena calls up all panicky because she needs several graphics by Tuesday morning! Well, with Monday being the holiday, that means we had to get it done Friday night, because, of course, everyone else wasn’t going to work over the weekend!!

Lump in My Throat

Any of you readers who know me, know that I think the war in Iraq was a huge mistake from the start. I don’t have the solution to it, but I don’t think the US staying there is the solution either. But as I read this, I realized again just how screwed up things really are. I hear/read about people getting blown up or shot every day, and after awhile, it barely registers with me. This article does not offer any solutions, but it certainly makes the war seem a lot more real. (And just a disclaimer that will only make sense at the end of this: I am sorry when almost any human being dies, but I cared not one whit for the media obsession with Anna Nicole Smith.)

Interesting How Things Go Sometimes

Again, I’ve not blogged for quite some time, for many reasons, the biggest of which is that for a couple of weeks there, I was working almost non-stop.
