Indulge Me

I try not to put posts about the cats up too much, but I thought this picture was just too cute. On my way out to work on Thursday morning, the sun was coming in on the porch nicely, and Milo and Tigger seemed to be enjoying themselves. I shot this through glass, so it’s not really sharp, but I thought it was too good not to post. What sweet boys they are. 🙂

This Weekend

This will be a short post, because I’m really tired!

My friend Nancy came over to spend the weekend with me this weekend. I miss her and so many of my friends, so it was really nice to get to spend some extended time with her.

Another good thing was that preparing for her arrival made me really push to get the house in decent shape. I’d say it’s about 95% unpacked, but I still haven’t hung anything or really put my knick-knacks in their places.

(To back up a couple of weeks, the move went very well. The guys worked hard and fast, it cost less than I’d thought it would, and they didn’t break anything. Can’t ask for a much better experience than that!)

Anyway, Nancy got in late on Saturday, and we stayed up until 3:00 am talking. We didn’t sleep too late on Sunday, had a nice brunch, and then went to the High Museum to see the Annie Leibowitz exhibition. It was interesting. I’m so glad Nancy wanted to go, because I probably never would have gone on my own. I need to do plan to regularly experience the wonderful things Atlanta has to offer.

I had Linda and Dianne over to join Nancy and me for dinner. After dinner, we sat around and sang and played guitars. It was SO much fun!!

Anyway, Nancy and I ended up talking again until almost 1:00, but I had to be at work earlier than usual this morning, so I’m VERY sleepy right now. I’m looking forward to some quiet days after work this week. We’ll see if it turns out that way.

Eventually…

Just wanted to let my faithful readers know that I fully intended a long post last night, but the ComCast people didn’t show, so I’m still sans phone/cable/internet. It’s probably a good thing that I’m at work, or the vitriolic spew that I feel about this situation would pour forth.

(Pause)

Better and Better

Update on the house situation:
The disappointing news… closing was postponed from Monday until Wednesday because of a situation regarding the appraisal. I was bummed about that because I’d already scheduled to take the day off on Monday. I’m really ready for this to be over with!
The good news… I had written into the contract that the appraisal had to be at least as much as the selling price. Because there have been few recent sells in the neighborhood, the appraiser couldn’t find good comps. So finally, they came up with an appraisal price of $213,000… over $10,000 less than I was paying!! So the seller agreed to make that the selling price. Yay!
