I’m not quite sure what the point of this is really…besides making me feel worse for growing up “poor white trash” ;)(said like hannibal lechter, who i reference in your blog once again…what’s that say about me?? :)). I think i could only bold the ones about books, though i’m not sure my grandmother’s harlequin romance collection counts for this one, and the phone one, but again that probably doesn’t count because there was not a phone jack in my room, just a rigged up super duper long phone cord that ran from the kitchen all the way to my bedroom 😉 I did have my own room though. Not hard to do when you’re an only child.
Not sure why you’re supposed to take one step forward for bolding these things either. Looks like i’m taking far too many steps backward to even be in the race. What’s the message here really? I guess i’ll go cry myself to sleep now on my goodwill bedding 😉

Wenzday, yeah, I agree that it shouldn’t have been worded about “steps forward,” and there was certainly no mention of taking steps backwards. You’re one of the brightest people I know AND a member in good standing of The Perfect Club. So it does show that it’s not about what you were given or not given in your life. Most of it is about what you do with what you WERE given.
As a matter of fact, I bolded the statement about staying in motels on vacation, but I actually snickered when I did. Our “vacations” were to Birmingham, to Atlanta, to Panama City, and they usually lasted one night, and my sister and I were just wanted to be staying in a place with a pool. We didn’t care about anything else. So just because something is bold on mine, it certainly didn’t reek of “high class.” I’m about as small town, rural, southern, salt-of-the-earth (smile) upbringing as they come….not ashamed of it at all, but it’s not where I chose to live my life, just like you.
So, there’s my sermon for the day. 🙂

ah-ha, that makes much more sense now. though this experiment doesn’t work very well in a blog setting. in a college classroom setting where everyone is more or less equal, at least for that moment, then yeah, i can see its use. but here, where no one knows who’s who and what they are/where they are etc. then it just seems like a nosey way to find out about someone.
and cheryl, i totally knew your answers weren’t meant to seem “high class” since i’m well acquainted with your upbringing, salt-of-the-earthness and all 😉
