STOMP is fantastic!!! If you ever have a chance to go and see them, I can just about assure you that you will enjoy the show. It’s a mix of amazing choreography, excellent musicianship of the percussive kind, inventiveness, and subtle (and not-so-subtle) humor.

The video below shows only a couple of their performances from their DVD “STOMP Out Loud.” (YouTube has lots more videos if you search for them.) The show we saw had them playing buckets, trashcans, their hands and bodies, basketballs, matchboxes, paper bags, brooms, and so much more. Seeing them live is sooo much better than watching their videos, as good as they are.

They are truly awesome!!!

Thanks, Laura!!

  1. Glad you went.
    Glad you enjoyed it.
Glad you didn’t use my head as a “found object”.

  4. I think what really amazes me is not just their use of found objects, but also their coordination and choreography. They don’t just bounce a basketball, they do it while walking and turning and spinning and dancing. I can barely walk and chew gum at the same time, much less maintain a rhythym. Very cool! I’m glad y’all had a chance to see them!
