Make It Stop!!!
OMG!! I don’t know if any of you know this about me, but I have tinnitus. I’ve had it for as long as I can remember, and most of the time, it’s something I don’t even pay attention to, unless I focus on it. When external noises are practically non-existent, it “seems” louder, but I think that’s because it moves to the foreground of what I’m hearing. Read the rest of this entry »
W.W.Y.D…?
…with all that money from MegaMillions?
So how about it? An early Sunday Question for you: How would you take the payout—lump sum ($192 million) or payment over 26 years ($12 million per year)? And after talking to an advisor and knowing that you’ll probably do good, charitable things down the road, blah, blah, blah, what are five things you would do/buy in the FIRST WEEK if you won the lottery? Heh, heh
Idahomo
Well, this whole incident with Sen. Larry Craig, R-Idaho, has me pulled in two different directions (which may have been just the thing he was looking for himself… but I digress).
First of all, Larry, you’re busted! Admit it! You were looking for sex with a male stranger in a bathroom! Drop the excuses… “My stance is wide.” (I nearly laughed out loud on that one!). “I was signaling that I needed toilet paper.” “I told the police I was guilty to get the whole thing over with.” “I’m not gay. Never have been gay.” Never will be gay. Never. Never. Never. Gay. Gay. Gay. His rambling makes the Miss Teen USA contestant who stumbled all over her answer look like the next featured speaker at Toastmasters! Read the rest of this entry »
Cat Pee Odor… Solutions?
And no, getting rid of the cats is NOT an option.
I’ve tried Nature’s Miracle… doesn’t work. Any ideas? Anything that’s worked for y’all? Tigger (that’s his mug shot here) has peed on the second of my two newest recliners, and I don’t know anything that gets rid of that!
If I can’t find anything that works, he may end up a “porch dweller” 24/7. I refuse to let my new house become a litter box!!
Arrrgghhh!! Help!
236, Working Late, Full Moon, and Lottery Tickets
236… I went over 200 hits on my blog for the first time ever!! Thanks, my peeps!
Working late… JUST got home about 10 minutes ago. Suckage of the frustrating kind. No one should have to work 13.5 hours a day!
Full moon… GORGEOUS full moon tonight!! Wish I’d had my camera while I was on the road. I can’t see it through the trees in my back yard.
Lottery Tickets… forgot to buy any. DOH!!
I Want Some Psycho Kittehs… Puh-leeeeeez!
Arrrgghh. MetaCafe’s video won’t embed here.
You MUST check out this link to see four of the most adorable, high-energy, non-stop, hopped-up-on-Red-Bull kittens ever!!
WHEN I win the lottery tomorrow night, I’m going to adopt 20 kittens this age, fill their large room with empty boxes, and film it continuously.
The Delicate Balance
I was talking to a friend recently about how I’ve come to use my blog as my journal. I have kept a journal for several years…sometimes sporadically, sometimes religiously. I have begun to treat my blog the same way, but it’s different.
A journal, of course, is generally private–its contents not to be known to others, unless it is shared. A blog, on the other hand, is all about non-privacy and sharing. However, somewhere along the way, these two things have merged for me. My blog has turned into a creature that I didn’t expect, and reading the blogs of others has led to both flesh-and-blood and cyber friendships. Read the rest of this entry »
Mother Teresa and Me
The blog discussions I’ve been reading surrounding the revelation of Mother Teresa’s “dark night of the soul” have really had me thinking a lot about my faith/lack of faith journey.
I was raised in a very strict, Southern Baptist rural home/church. We were at church Sunday morning, evening, Wednesday evening, every revival, Bible study, Vacation Bible School, etc. You get the picture. I was steeped in Jesus! But for the most part, the God I was taught was the all-seeing eye, to be feared as much or more than loved; forgiving of sins, but somewhat like a hall monitor, waiting for you to screw up so He would be proven better than us worms. If you grew up in that kind of church, you know what I’m talking about. If you didn’t, my describing it won’t capture the feeling. Read the rest of this entry »
Lovin’ on Dan
I finally did it—bought eight Dan Fogelberg albums off iTunes! I knew I’d never get around to making my CDs into MP3s, and I couldn’t stand not being able to shuffle Dan around on iTunes, so I forked out the dough. Now I’m working (well, procrastinating right at this moment) and listening to Dan.
Here are the lyrics to one of my favorites, Nexus. Honestly, I think this would stand alone as a poem, but it’s even better with his music. (I was going to link to an audio clip, but it only plays the opening instrumental part.) Enjoy: Read the rest of this entry »
